Platform implementation for 30+ healthcare websites on WordPressAbout the clientThe client is a network of 32 dermatology clinics located across the United States. Each clinic had its own website, hosted on various CMS, causing inconveniences in managing administrative tasks. In addition, lack of a clear analytical tracking system limited the ability to track user engagement and conversion data effectively. The client requested a solution to improve efficiency and establish consistency across all websites.LOCATION: United StatesProject overviewFor simplifying website management across all clinics, our team provided a solution in website migration to WordPress. The goal was to create a consistent company presence where each clinic could easily manage their own websites. In addition to the website migration to WordPress, we implemented advanced analytics tracking and a website redesign.DURATION: January 2024 – Now (providing ongoing support) TECH STACK: WordPress, WP Engine, ACF, Gutenberg Blocks, SCSS, JavaScript, BigQuery, Google Analytics 4, Google Search Console, Google Tag Manager, Radix Health, Looker Studio TEAM: 2 web developers, SEO analyst, designerYou can also read more about our web development services or web development packages. ChallengesMultiple CMSThe client’s websites were hosted on different platforms, making it difficult to maintain and manage them across the network. This led the web development team to rebuild websites that were incompatible with WordPress from scratch.Analytics trackingA system for booking forms created on Radix Health platform made it challenging to track conversions for each individual branch, limiting the ability to gain insights and optimize efficiency in decision-making.InconsistencyThe websites did not have a cohesive theme that would unify all the clinics under one brand identity. This led to inconsistencies in user experience, perception and the following engagement.SolutionsMigration to WP Engine1) Initial review & planning – Audited websites of all branches, evaluating their content management systems to identify compatibility with WordPress and WP Engine. – Developed a website migration to WordPress plan for websites requiring full rebuilds due to CMS incompatibility.2) Content migration – Transferred content and databases for the websites already compatible with WordPress. – For non-WordPress websites, we recreated content and functionality leveraging the developed WordPress theme.3) Configuration Configured caching SSL certificates for optimized websites performance.4) Plugins set up and form configuration – To enhance functionality and simplify management, we implemented key plugins like Advanced Custom Fields PRO, which works with Gutenberg to create custom fields and personalized blocks within the theme. – Yoast SEO was installed for search engine optimization, and site LiteSpeed Cache for improved website performance. – Configured tools like Breadcrumb NavXT for navigation, Redirection for URL management, and Robin Image Optimizer to enhance load speeds through image optimization.5) Custom post types & fields Worked with ACF to create custom post types for managing clinic-specific content.6) Final Testing & Launch Carefully tested each website to ensure compatibility, speed, and functionality before launch.Analytics optimization1) Integration with the Radix Health platform Embedded the Radix Health appointment booking form via links into the client’s websites.2) Custom conversion tracking Leveraged Google Tag Manager to track users’ behavior on the websites. This solution also can support future advertising campaigns, making it easier to measure effectiveness in generating leads and conversion tracking.3) Segmented conversion tracking – Implemented advanced, non-standard GTM solutions tailored to the client’s booking system. – Set up conversion tracking by traffic source, enabling the client to monitor performance metrics based on clinic location and patient source.4) Data structuring and visualization – Leveraged BigQuery to structure data from GA 4, organizing key metrics, such as appointment bookings and traffic data. – Created interactive dashboards in Looker Studio, visualising KPI, and helping the client make informed, data-driven decisions. Theme redesign1) Custom theme development Built a custom WordPress theme using Gutenberg blocks, giving each branch the flexibility to update content, images, and booking options without having technical skills.2) Responsive & user-centered design Ensured responsive design across mobile, tablet, and desktop devices, enhancing the user experience.3) Launch & post-launch support – Deployed the redesigned theme on all websites for testing and adjustments. – Provided the client with a training session on using Gutenberg blocks to manage and update content.Want to upgrade your healthcare website?
